MEC and SED-SC Postpone Deadline for Distance Learning Professional Qualification Courses. More than a Thousand Slots are Offered for Courses in the Technology Field
In partnership with the Secretariat for Professional and Technological Education (SETEC-MEC), the State Department of Education of Santa Catarina (SED-SC) continues with the New Paths Program and the Qualifica Mais Emprega Mais Program, which aim to provide free qualification courses. Due to the pandemic, the vacancies are for Distance Learning courses.

According to the website of Basic Education Teachers of São Paulo (pebsp.com), the Secretariat and MEC announced a Notice to select students for technological courses with registrations until 01/09/2022, but in order to reach a larger number of enrolled students, postponed the registration deadline for Distance Learning courses until 02/06/2022.
Together with the MEC, the State Department of Education of Santa Catarina published the Notice 002/2021 amended, with the public selection process for participation in Initial and Continuing Education courses – FIC in distance learning format. There are 1,218 slots available for the 3 courses, with 73 of them allocated for people with disabilities.

The Distance Learning courses have been distributed by MEC and SED-SC in 4 cities to serve students from the Southern region: Curitiba, Florianópolis, Joinville, and Porto Alegre.

- Web Programmer – 466 slots: this course aims to disseminate knowledge and technological resources to prepare students for the job market. It encourages critical thinking and skills for project development on the web. The course lasts 216 hours, divided into six subjects:

- Algorithms and Data Structures;

- Systems Programmer – 144 slots: this Distance Learning course aims to qualify professionals to develop computational systems. Thus, students will be able to use databases and other factors when maintaining systems. With 216 hours, the course is divided into:

- Basic Logic
- Algorithms and Data Structures
- Java Programming Language
- Graphical User Interface Construction
- Mobile Devices Programmer – 338 slots: focused on mobile devices, the course qualifies students to develop applications following technical procedures and safety standards. 6 subjects compose the curriculum of this Distance Learning course:
- Basic Concepts of Information Technologies
- Guidance for Professional Practice and Entrepreneurship
- Algorithms and Data Structures
- Logic and Object-Oriented Programming
- Database
- Languages and Development for Mobile Devices
Requirements, Registration, and Classification of Courses
To participate in any of the MEC Distance Learning courses, interested parties must pay attention to the following requirements: be over 16 years old; complete high school; reside in one of the municipalities or nearby, and choose only 1 course. The registration form must be completed through this link, and the classification of candidates will occur after analyzing the documents submitted in the form, according to the criteria in item 3.
