Companies Join Forces to Launch Project Promising Free Solar Energy for the Northeast, Generating Photovoltaic Energy on Residential and Commercial Roofs.
An innovative project promises to provide free solar energy to 50,000 households and commercial establishments monthly in the Northeast region of Brazil, at no cost to the property owners. This initiative results from a collaboration between Revo, Sou Energy, and Huawei, operating similarly to a leasing, with significant potential to boost the use of photovoltaic energy in the region.
Understand How the Free Solar Energy Project by Revo, Sou Energy, and Huawei Will Work
In this photovoltaic energy initiative, the homeowner or tenant subscribes to the service, allowing the installation of solar panels on the roof at no cost for the equipment or installation. It operates as a kind of roof leasing, offering the user a discount of about 20% on their electricity bill.
At the end of the contract, with a minimum duration of 6 years, the user becomes the owner of the solar system, potentially saving up to 80% permanently on their electricity bill. The investment fund involved in the project receives compensation through a share of the savings generated, which is retained by Revo.

Forget common renewable energy: HydroWing prepares a 10 MW project in Indonesia to transform ocean currents into predictable electricity, using turbines installed on the seabed in a region where the funnel effect between islands increases tidal potential.

The world could operate on clean electricity by 2050, but a study indicates that this would require up to 20 TW of renewable energy, more than 9 million hectares for solar, and strong cooperation between countries.

New catalyst developed by scientists in the USA enhances the performance of water electrolysis without using platinum, reducing operational costs and expanding the potential of green hydrogen as a strategic alternative for industries, heavy transportation, and clean energy generation.

The era of solar panels attached to roofs is beginning to change with transparent glass that generates energy while keeping the view unobstructed, and perovskite photovoltaic windows already tested in offices in Japan promise to transform entire facades into invisible power plants without blocking light or altering the appearance of buildings.
Sou Energy, the largest distributor of solar kits in the North and Northeast, benefits from the sale of the equipment, while Huawei, the Chinese giant, contributes its technology to the free solar energy project. Homes and small businesses with electricity bills between R$ 400 and R$ 15,000, with suitable roofs for solar generation, can participate in the project. The initiative focuses especially on peripheral areas of the Northeast and North.
According to Mario Viana, Commercial and Marketing Director of Sou Energy, it is not necessary to own the property; rented properties can also participate, as long as there is authorization from the owner.
Free Solar Energy Project Promises Extra Income of Up to R$ 10,000
The companies’ innovation was announced in April 2024 in Fortaleza. It is worth mentioning that in this photovoltaic solar energy system, the credits generated from the produced energy cannot be used in more than one unit. Besides the advantage on the electricity bill, the expectation is that the model will generate job opportunities for up to 10,000 salespeople and integrators who will act as a link between customers and companies.
According to Mario Viana, there is a possibility of earning at least R$ 3,000 with the model, but the amount can be much greater, potentially exceeding R$ 10,000, depending on the number of subscriptions obtained.
For Kléber Pinho, CEO of Sou Energy, the project could revolutionize the income of thousands of families, functioning as a kind of ‘Uber for Solar Energy’.
Huawei Speaks About the Initiative
For Rômulo Horta, Director of Channels at Huawei Digital Power, increasing the use of clean energy is essential and urgent, as global energy demand is expected to grow by 58% by 2040, at a rate of 2% per year, according to Bloomberg NEF (BNEF), which provides data on energy markets.
Horta states that we are facing an energy challenge like never before. While fossil fuel reserves are depleting, our demand for energy is increasing. In the next 20 years, we will meet nearly 36% more energy needs. We need to change this reality as soon as possible.
The focus of the free solar energy project is to offer the end customer the opportunity to generate photovoltaic energy without making any investment, thereby generating more benefits and lower costs.
