Usina Alta Mogiana was founded in 1983 with the purpose of being a vital company for the development of São Joaquim da Barra and the region. The first harvest took place in 1985, processing 228,000 tons of sugarcane and producing 17.8 million liters of hydrated alcohol. Currently, the plant has an installed capacity to crush more than 6.7 million tons of sugarcane, producing about 10.5 million sacks of sugar, over 240 million liters of ethanol, and co-generated energy of 250,000 MWh.
Usina Alta Mogiana is located in the region known as Alta Mogiana, in the state of São Paulo, which is globally recognized for its unique quality in coffee production. This region encompasses 15 municipalities, including Altinópolis, Batatais, Buritizal, Cajuru, among others.
