The university plans to announce the criteria for requesting a waiver or a 50% reduction of the fee in the second half of August. Additionally, last-year students from São Paulo’s public high schools are entitled to a 75% reduction in the registration fee.
How Do Unesp Exams Work?
The Unesp selection process is divided into two phases and will be conducted in 35 cities.
- First phase: Takes place on November 2, featuring a test with 90 multiple-choice questions.
- Second phase: Will be held on December 7 and 8. Candidates approved in the first stage will take tests with 36 essay questions and one written essay.
Quota System and Unesp’s Commitment
Unesp maintains its commitment to inclusion through the Public Basic Education Vacancy Reservation System (SRVEBP). This system reserves 50% of the vacancies in each course for students who attended all of their high school education in public schools.
Within this quota, 35% of the vacancies are directed to self-declared Black, Brown, or Indigenous candidates. Since 2017, this policy has ensured that the majority of new students at Unesp come from public education.
