“There is a direct responsibility of the state with the state network, but there is also a concern to support municipal networks, Santas Casas, philanthropic hospitals, and the private network,” stated the vice governor.
Copagaz will use its already established transport and logistics network for gas cylinder transportation to deliver the oxygen cylinders. Garcia states that the plant created by Ambev will begin production within 10 days.
The Secretaries’ Pronouncement on the Plants
The state secretary of Economic Development, Patricia Ellen, also announced the creation of task forces with more private initiatives, such as Ambev’s, to ensure the supply of oxygen to hospitals across the state. The companies mentioned by the secretary were Air Liquide, Atmosfera Gases, and IBG.
According to Jean Gorinchteyn, Secretary of Health, there is no risk of a lack of oxygen in the state until the plant starts operating within the ten days mentioned.
The plant is a strategic plan to help smaller municipalities struggling to maintain stock, according to Gorinchteyn. “It’s a matter of logistics, of distributing the oxygen cylinders,” said the secretary. “Small cities do not have large oxygen tanks, so they need these cylinders.”
