Discover How Summer Boosts Solar Energy in Brazil, Bringing Savings, Sustainability, and a Boost to the Photovoltaic Sector!
The summer brings longer days and higher temperatures, but it also has a great benefit: the higher solar incidence. This phenomenon increases the efficiency of photovoltaic solar energy production, essential for energy savings and sustainability.
A study conducted by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in partnership with Unifesp reveals that during this season, solar energy capture in Brazil can grow by 2% to 8%, a unique opportunity for consumers and investors.
Solar Energy: Growth and Potential in the Country
Brazil, which ended daylight saving time in 2019, continues to harness solar light as a strong point. In 2023, the country rose to the 6th position globally in solar energy production, with over 37 GW of operational capacity, according to Absolar. This advance is due to the predominantly sunny climate and the extensive territory available for the installation of photovoltaic systems.

While the world looks at forests, the UN warns that the Earth is also threatened by the silent degradation of natural grasslands and savannas, ecosystems that cover half of the planet, support billions of people, and can exacerbate water, food, and climate crises.
As Bruno Felipe, Marketing Manager of Ourolux, explains, summer is strategic for balancing energy consumption:
“The targeted expansion in solar production helps to meet the extra energy demand that is common during this time, while also providing financial savings.”
Sustainability Combined with Economy
The energy is a clean and highly efficient alternative, capable of reducing energy costs by up to 95% in businesses, homes, and industries, according to Absolar. Additionally, it contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, promoting a positive impact in the fight against climate change.
An Investment Worth Making
With short-term financial returns and significant environmental benefits, investing in photovoltaic energy in the summer is a wise decision. Even without daylight saving time, the season remains a great ally for renewable energy production in Brazil.
