According to WEG and 2W Energia, the launch of wind turbine generators in RN took place in 2020, but they had to undergo improvement since then
2W Energia announced through a statement on Friday (26) that it has signed a contract partnering with WEG to supply 33 wind turbine generators that will be destined for the Anemus Wind Complex, located in the municipalities of Currais Novos and São Vicente, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte – RN.

According to the document issued regarding this new partnership for wind energy in RN between WEG and 2W Energia, the chosen model was the AGW 147/4.2 MW, which has a nominal power of 4.2 MW each and the rotors will be approximately 125 meters above the ground.
In the sealed contract, the operation and maintenance of the wind turbine generators were included, with elite scope, for an estimated period of 20 years. This term may be extended, as it will depend on the success of the partnership between 2W and WEG.

Canadian engineers want to compress air in underground caverns and build plants of up to 500 MW that function as giant lungs to store renewable energy for hours and stabilize entire electrical grids.
“With an expected start of operations in 2022, the Anemus Wind Complex has an anticipated investment of R$ 640 million and will create more than 2,000 jobs. All the energy generated by this Complex will be allocated to customers of Free Energy,” informed the Director of Investor Relations of 2W, Eduardo Masson de Andrade Martins.
“The wind turbines were launched in 2020 and are the main sales channel in the free energy market, according to the company’s business plan. The wind energy generated by this Complex will be equivalent to supplying 360,000 households with clean and sustainable energy, avoiding the emission of more than 320,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year. This contract seals a major partnership between 2W Energia and WEG with the common goal of democratizing access to renewable and clean energy.”
