Cooperativa Agroindustrial Lar took out a long-term lease to operate the Frango Granjeiro industrial complex in Rolândia, in northern Paraná, which has existed for 34 years. The contract provides for a future commitment to purchase and incorporate the company's fleet of light and heavy vehicles.

Lar's new slaughterhouse will have a feed factory with a capacity to produce 19 tons/month, a poultry slaughterhouse with a daily processing capacity of 175 chickens and a grain reception and processing unit with a capacity of 16,8 tons.

Cooperativa Agroindustrial took over 300 aviaries involving 270 producers distributed in 41 municipalities around Rolândia, Paraná. Lar intends to reach the mark of 700 birds slaughtered per day starting this month, with the new industrial complex, which could reach 900 birds slaughtered per day in 2023.

To meet all this demand, the new industrial complex will generate more than 1900 direct jobs, of which 320 will be new.

The other Lar units are in Matelândia and Cascavel. “It is the first unit in Rolândia, it took us ten months to complete the deal, but this work with poultry has been carried out by the cooperative for 21 years. We slaughter seven days a week in Matelândia, six days a week in Cascavel and six days a week in Rolândia”, informs Irineo da Costa Rodrigues, CEO of the cooperative.

“We still intend to incorporate another 70 aviaries and 300 employees in the future because we have room to grow. Our production is divided into 50% domestically and 50% abroad. Lar exports to 74 countries, but the State already reaches 160 countries. We are looking for new markets”, added the CEO.

The location of the industry is strategic for the cooperative because it is installed 15 kilometers from the railroad, which reduces the cost of transportation towards the Port of Paranaguá and countries that import meat from Paraná. The new plant will also make it possible to serve the market in the north of Paraná and cities in the interior of São Paulo. In the poultry segment, Lar has two hatcheries and 1.002 integrated associates.

In 2019, Cooperativa Agroindustrial earned BRL 6,95 billion, growth of 6,8% compared to the previous year, and the expectation is to end 2020 with BRL 10 billion in business. The achievements of 11,5 associates and 18,3 employees were achieved in 11 municipalities in western Paraná, Paraguay, Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Catarina.
