36 oil fields are listed with temporary shutdown in the updated list of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels – ANP, with 21 offshore and 15 onshore, of which almost all (33) are operated by Petrobras.

In light of the drop in demand for oil and derivatives due to the economic crisis and the pandemic, Petrobras announced last month the goal of reducing its production by 200 thousand bopd.
The state-owned company reported the intention to temporarily halt 62 platforms to achieve an initial reduction of 23 thousand bopd. Until then, the oil company had removed 42 platforms from operation in April.
According to the latest data from the regulatory agency, ANP, 33 oil fields that were hibernated by Petrobras produced around 72 thousand bopd in March.
Half of the 36 projects that had their oil production temporarily halted are concentrated in the Sergipe (9) and Potiguar (9) basins.
The Campos Basin follows, with 6 oil fields, followed by Ceará (4), Recôncavo (3), Espírito Santo and Santos, with 2 each; and Camamu (1)
Besides the Vale do Quiricó, operated by Energizzi, the other 2 non-Petrobras oil fields temporarily halted are Lagoa do Paulo Sul and Juriti, from Recôncavo E&P.
