The Ministry of Defense Confirmed the Request for 4,410 New Vacancies for Various Positions in Its Institutions, Including the Armed Forces
The Ministry of Defense announced the request for 4,410 vacancies in new public competitions aimed at filling positions in different agencies and institutions under its administration. The information was confirmed by the ministry itself, which sent the authorization requests for inclusion in the 2025 Budget Law, according to the Folha Qconcursos website.
Distribution of Vacancies
Among the requested vacancies, 3,741 are allocated to the three Armed Forces: Navy, Army, and Air Force. Additionally, 640 vacancies were requested for the Armed Forces Hospital and 29 for the Ministry of Defense itself, within the scope of the General Plan of Positions of the Executive Power (PGPE).
Another Competition on the Way!
In addition to the requested vacancies, the Ministry of Defense is studying the possibility of holding a new competition for filling positions within the ministry. However, these careers still need to be created. According to the ministry, “the creation of new positions for the Ministry of Defense is still subject to internal studies, and there is no decision regarding the matter.”

In March, the Ministry informed Folha Dirigida and Qconcursos that it is analyzing the possibility of a public competition to fill positions currently occupied by military personnel. Although the number of vacancies and positions have not yet been defined, there is a possibility that the selection will offer around 300 vacancies, covering positions for assistants, analysts, and defense specialists.
Reducing Dependence on Military Personnel
The creation of a dedicated staff is a priority for the Ministry of Defense, aiming to reduce dependence on military personnel. Currently, about 250 civil servants are seconded from other agencies, mainly from the Armed Forces. Only 66 civil servants from the ministry’s staff have been approved in public competitions.
Censipam Competition with Tests in July
Linked to the Ministry of Defense, the Management and Operational Center of the Amazon Protection System (Censipam) launched a notice for a competition with 60 temporary vacancies. The tests will be held on July 7 in Brasília (DF), Belém (PA), Manaus (AM), and Porto Velho (RO).
