Airbnb became income for a family farm that hosts up to nine people for about R$ 1,400 per weekend, but pool, cleaning, lawn, and maintenance show that rural accommodation requires constant service, recurring costs, and availability to resolve unforeseen issues when the guest calls at any time every week.

Airbnb transformed a farm created for family relaxation into a source of recurring income in the Lagoa Santa region, with a pool, cleaning, and maintenance at the center of the routine. Rancho Long Branch, managed by Daisy and the family, was featured in a video published on April 30, 2026, showing how the space went from being just family leisure to hosting guests.

According to a video published by the channel Renda com Cadu, the rental began in 2022, after the property was completed between 2021 and 2022. Today, the ranch hosts groups of up to nine people, charges about R$ 1,400 for the weekend, and shows that making money with accommodation requires cleaning, maintenance, service, quick response, and willingness to solve problems at any time.

Farm was born for leisure, but became a business

Rancho Long Branch was not initially built as a tourist enterprise. The original idea was to create a place for the family to relax, enjoy the green area, use the pool, and escape the routine. The plot, according to the account, was just brush when the project started during the pandemic.

Over time, relatives and friends began to ask to borrow the space. The turning point came when the family realized that if close people liked the farm, other guests might also be interested. From there, the listing went on Airbnb and the first positive review helped boost the decision to continue renting.

Airbnb shares space with Instagram and WhatsApp

Although Airbnb was the first channel used to promote the ranch, it is not solely responsible for the bookings. Daisy reports that today about half of the guests come through the platform, while the other half come through Instagram, WhatsApp status, and recommendations from people who already know the space.

This combination shows a common reality in independent accommodations. The platform helps to provide visibility, organize bookings, and build reputation through reviews, but social networks strengthen direct relationships with the public and can reduce dependence on a single channel.

Up to nine people can stay at the ranch

The property is rented entirely to a family or group of friends, without division between different guests. The space accommodates up to nine people for sleeping, with three double beds and three single beds distributed in suites.

In the Airbnb listing, the main limit stated is nine people, but there is a possibility to negotiate if someone wants to bring a tent. In this case, the negotiation is done directly with the host, respecting the limit to avoid overcrowding the space.

R$ 1,400 per weekend is the average charge

The average price mentioned for a weekend at Rancho Long Branch is R$ 1,400 for up to nine people, usually from Friday to Sunday. In practice, this equates to about R$ 700 per night in the weekend package.

During the week, the daily rate can be around R$ 400, but demand is more sporadic. The property’s strong points are weekends, holidays, and vacation periods, when groups seek the space to relax, use the pool, gather family, and enjoy the outdoor area.

Revenue can vary greatly depending on the month

When the property manages to rent out all four weekends of the month, the revenue can reach close to R$ 6,000 just from these bookings. In weaker months, with two weekends rented, the amount can be around R$ 3,000.

In better months, with holidays or extra daily bookings during the week, the revenue can rise to something close to R$ 7,000. According to the report, in 2025 the revenue through Airbnb was around R$ 31,000, but as there were similar volume bookings outside, the total approximate estimate reached R$ 62,000 for the year.

Costs reduce the impression of easy money

Gross income does not represent net profit. The site requires cleaning, lawn mowing, pool products, water, electricity, gas, mineral water, and constant maintenance. The cleaning was mentioned around R$ 250 per service, while lawn mowing can cost about R$ 200 per day of work.

Adding up cleaning, gardening, and other expenses, monthly maintenance can weigh heavily. This is where the dream of extra income meets operational reality. Those who rent through Airbnb need to consider that each guest leaves the space used, and the next one expects to find everything clean, functioning, and well-presented.

Pool and green area attract, but also require work

The pool is one of the most important attractions for families with children. At the same time, it requires frequent cleaning, use of chlorine, decanter, and other products. In the case of Rancho Long Branch, the family reduces costs because Henrique does the pool maintenance himself.

The lawn is also a visual advantage, but it needs to be cared for almost every week. The natural landscape helps because it does not require constant irrigation, but there is still work to keep the external area presentable. The beautiful photo that sells the accommodation depends on invisible maintenance to the guest.

Rustic experience is part of the differential

The ranch bets on a rustic style, with an equipped kitchen, wood stove, barbecue, ground fire, outdoor area, view, and contact with nature. The proposal is not to resemble a modern urban house, but to deliver a restful environment in the countryside.

This choice also defines the audience. According to the report, adults greatly value the view and the ground fire, while children are enchanted by the pool. On Airbnb, this type of positioning can help attract guests who want exactly the rural experience, and not a property with a hotel appearance.

Not everything needs to be luxury to work

The property does not have air conditioning, only fans. Even so, the host reports that this has almost never prevented bookings, because at night the region cools down due to the forest. Only one person has refrained from renting for this reason.

This point shows that not every investment is mandatory for all audiences. More important than copying a list of luxury items is understanding what the guest truly values. In the case of the ranch, nature, pool, view, and social interaction seem to weigh more than air conditioning.

Service can be as valuable as the structure

Daisy prefers to welcome guests personally, explain how the site works, show the pool details, indicate where utensils are, and guide on the use of the space. She believes this contact builds trust and enhances the experience.

This care helps explain the positive reviews on Airbnb. The experience does not depend solely on the house being beautiful, but also on how problems are resolved. When there are unforeseen events, the guest tends to evaluate the host’s proactivity, not just the issue itself.

Unforeseen events are part of the business

The hosting routine includes unexpected situations. In the account, there are cases of guests who forgot blankets, asked for help to arrive via dirt road, needed guidance, faced leaks on a rainy day, or encountered plumbing issues in a suite.

These episodes show that managing a site on Airbnb is not passive income in the absolute sense. The owner may not be working on-site all the time, but needs to remain on standby. At any message, a demand may arise that requires a quick solution.

Real photos help avoid frustration

One of the points advocated by the host is transparency in photos and descriptions. Beautiful images are important, but they need to represent what the guest will find upon arrival. According to her, many visitors comment that the place is just like what they saw in the photos.

This consistency reduces complaints and improves trust. In the seasonal accommodation market, promising more than what is delivered can lead to bad reviews. On Airbnb, a frustrated expectation can weigh more than a small defect clearly explained.

Hosting also became an opportunity for management

The experience with Rancho Long Branch opened up opportunities for Daisy to manage other properties. She started promoting sites, farms, and inns owned by others, charging a percentage for attracting and negotiating with guests.

This development shows that the accumulated knowledge in the operation can become a service. Knowing how to photograph, promote, respond, price, guide guests, and avoid problems becomes a commercial skill. For those who master the routine, Airbnb can cease to be just a rental platform and become a gateway to seasonal management.

The income can be interesting, especially on weekends, holidays, and vacations. But the main question remains: would you be willing to turn a place of rest into a business and be available 24 hours to solve guest problems? Leave your opinion in the comments.
