The ABSOLAR Meeting Northeast, which takes place on October 16 in Recife, will bring together experts and businesspeople to discuss solar energy, electromobility, and energy storage. The region has already attracted over R$ 39.6 billion in investments, according to ABSOLAR.
Recife will host, on October 16, one of the most important events in the solar energy sector in Brazil: the ABSOLAR Meeting Northeast. Promoted by the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR), the meeting will bring together businesspeople, experts, consultants, and public authorities to discuss the advancement of the photovoltaic market, new technologies in energy storage, and the growth of electromobility in the country.
The event focuses on strengthening the Brazilian solar sector and creating new business opportunities for companies and investors, both nationally and regionally. The capital of Pernambuco was chosen for its strategic role in expanding renewable energy in the Northeast.
ABSOLAR Highlights Northeast’s Role as a Powerhouse in Solar Energy
According to official data from ABSOLAR, the self-generation of solar energy has already generated over R$ 39.6 billion in investments in the northeastern states. The installed capacity exceeds 8.7 gigawatts (GW), distributed among residences, businesses, industries, rural properties, and public buildings.
-
The era of solar panels attached to roofs is beginning to change with transparent glass that generates energy while keeping the view unobstructed, and perovskite photovoltaic windows already tested in offices in Japan promise to transform entire facades into invisible power plants without blocking light or altering the appearance of buildings.
-
The era of silicon alone in solar energy comes to an end with the arrival of perovskite, a material that captures a broader light spectrum, is applied as a thin film, and, together with silicon, reaches a theoretical limit of 45% efficiency in tandem modules.
-
Fernando de Noronha begins unprecedented energy transformation with a R$ 350 million solar plant that promises to replace diesel generation and change the island’s sustainable future by 2027.
-
While Europe and the United States rush to save their own solar chains, China already dominates more than 80% of the global manufacturing of solar panels and has turned the sun into an industrial machine controlled by Beijing that is redefining the global energy transition.
This growth reinforces the Northeast’s prominence in Brazil’s energy transition. The combination of high solar incidence and incentive policies has attracted companies of various sizes, consolidating the region as one of the main clean energy hubs in Latin America.
The agenda for the ABSOLAR Meeting Northeast, hosted by Banco BV, includes panels and lectures focusing on technological innovation and modernization of the electric sector. The discussions will cover topics such as:
- Challenges of integrating new sustainable technologies into electric grids;
- The role of energy storage systems in distributed solar generation;
- The combination of photovoltaic plants and charging stations for electric vehicles;
- New financing solutions and investment opportunities in the sector.
Additionally, the meeting will discuss the role of distributed generation in the context of transforming the national electric system, highlighting how the advancement of renewable sources can reduce costs and strengthen energy security.
Confirmed Experts and Strategic Objectives
Among the speakers are prominent names in the sector: Guilherme Sá, Executive Secretary of Energy of Pernambuco; Fabio Costa, Superintendent of Banco BV; Ronaldo Koloszuk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ABSOLAR; Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of the entity; and Emmanuela Jordão, Manager of the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles (ABVE). The state coordinators of ABSOLAR — Luzer Oliveira (Pernambuco), Santiago Gonzales (Bahia), and Jonas Becker (Ceará) — also participate.
The meeting aims to connect companies and professionals in the photovoltaic sector, strengthening networking among suppliers, integrators, manufacturers, and clients that make up the value chain of solar energy. The proposal is to stimulate new businesses, foster experience sharing, and expand the dialogue on public policies that promote clean energy in Brazil.
About ABSOLAR
Founded in 2013, the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) represents all links in the value chain of solar energy in the country. The entity brings together national and international companies and institutions that work with renewable sources, electrical energy storage, and green hydrogen.
With an active role in defending sustainable energy transition, ABSOLAR acts as a source of information and articulation between the private sector and public authorities, promoting the growth of a cleaner, more modern, and decentralized energy matrix.
