The Ministry of Economy Released Data on the Trade Balance for 2020, Which Shows That Agriculture Reached Great Numbers in Exports
Last Monday, the Ministry of Economy showed data indicating that, over the last ten years, the agriculture sector has become increasingly important and accounts for a large part of the economy. From 2011 to 2020, the export value of the sector is close to 1 trillion dollars and the trade balance of the sector is 800 billion dollars. Increases in production and exports incorporate revenues into investment portfolios, thus increasing the investment capacity of producers in the sector.
Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture released the estimate of the Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) of Brazil, which reached the mark of R$ 7.4 trillion in the decade. The VBP is the result of sales and prices of products obtained by producers.
In the domestic market, the VBP has evolved in all sectors of protein. But the most important is livestock: from 2011 to 2020, the revenue from livestock reached 1 trillion reais.
