Alliance Airlines, an Australian airline, announced last Sunday (26/02) the acquisition of 30 Embraer 190 aircraft. The news was confirmed by AerCap, an Irish leasing company.
According to Alliance managing director Scott McMillan, the acquisition of embraer planes will allow the company to increase its capacity, in addition to ensuring better access to key components and improvements in operation. You aircraft Embraer are currently leased to a US company and were operated by her from the beginning. Although there is no official confirmation, there is speculation that the planes belong to JetBlue.
As aircraft deliveries will start in September 2023 and will be completed by January 2026. The purchase price of each aircraft will be determined in the week before delivery and depends on the maintenance status of the fuselage and installed engines. Therefore, it is not possible to predict a final price for the entire fleet.
Once the 30 aircraft are added to the Alliance fleet, it will have 100 aircraft in total: 37 Fokker 100/70 and 63 Embraer E190. However, engines and other components of the aircraft may be retained as spares to maintain the balance of the company's Embraer fleet.
