Alliance Airlines, the Australian Airline, Announced Last Sunday (02/26) the Acquisition of 30 Embraer 190 Aircraft. The News Was Confirmed by AerCap, the Irish Leasing Company.
According to Alliance’s Managing Director, Scott McMillan, the acquisition of Embraer aircraft will allow the company to increase its capacity, as well as ensure better access to key components and improvements in operations. The Embraer aircraft are currently leased to a U.S. company and have been operated by it from the beginning. Although there is no official confirmation, there are speculations that the aircraft would belong to JetBlue.
The delivery of the aircraft will begin in September 2023 and will be completed by January 2026. The purchase price of each aircraft will be determined in the week prior to delivery and depends on the maintenance status of the fuselage and installed engines. Therefore, it is not possible to predict a final price for the entire fleet.
Once the 30 aircraft are added to Alliance’s fleet, it will have a total of 100 planes: 37 Fokker 100/70 and 63 Embraer E190. However, the engines and other components of the aircraft may be retained as spares to maintain the balance of the company’s Embraer fleet.
