The Pecém Steel Company – CSP, has received the local certification from the ANP which enables the Ceará-based factory to supply steel plates for the oil and gas industry in Brazil. This ANP condition is necessary for sector franchisees, such as Petrobras, to determine the percentage of national products and services that the equipment, materials, and services they contract must meet Union requirements.

Certifications:

The Steel Company also received IATF and ISO 9001 certifications. With IATF, the steelmaker can supply steel for the automotive industry. On the other hand, ISO 9001 certifies the company’s quality management system, which establishes guidelines for steel production and aims to make CSP a global reference in safety, quality, cost, technology, and sustainable development.

The Steel Mill:

The Pecém Steel Company is an integrated steel plant located in the Brazilian state of Ceará, in the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante, being the anchor project of the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP).

CSP is the largest private investment in Ceará and during its construction phase was the second largest private investment in Brazil. It exports its steel plates to over 24 countries, considerably increasing product movements at the Port of Pecém, Ceará, the Northeast, and Brazil, placing it among the country’s largest exporting companies.
