After Volkswagen Stops Selling the Fox at Brazilian Dealerships, the Gol Takes Its Place as the Entry-Level Car Costing Around R$ 65 Thousand and Featuring New Equipment
Volkswagen confirmed last week the end of Fox production, which has been in the Brazilian market for 18 years with its original body. The model was created to succeed the Gol, which now returns as the entry-level car for the German automaker, but unfortunately, the Fox exited the dealerships before its sibling. The last unit of the model was manufactured at the end of September in São José dos Pinhais (PR).

Gol Returns as the Cheapest Model at Volkswagen Dealerships
The reason for the Fox’s end is due to the new pollutant emissions legislation that will come into effect in 2022 in the country. However, Volkswagen stated that it removed the model from dealerships to make space for the T-Cross SUV in the production line.
In its final months, the hatch was sold in two versions, Xtreme and Connect, both featuring a 1.6 8V engine with 104 horsepower from the EA111 family. The models were priced at R$ 67,400 and R$ 61,500, respectively. With the end of Fox production, the Gol returns to being the cheapest and best-selling model at the German automaker’s dealerships.

Gol Returns to Dealerships with State-of-the-Art Equipment

The model also features ABS brakes with EBD, front airbags, Isofix hooks for child seats, headrests in all positions, and three-point seatbelts, which are mandatory equipment.
Optional upgrades include speakers for sound, a radio system with MP3 and Bluetooth Media Plus, or Urban packages. The most comprehensive of them charges more than R$ 7,000, raising the price tag of the Gol to R$ 74,390.
Colors of the Fox’s Replacement Will Also Affect the Final Price
