Brazilians and Venezuelans living in Manaus organized a humanitarian action to collect food, water, clothes, and essential items for families affected by the earthquakes recorded in Venezuela on June 24, 2026.

Solidarity has brought Brazilians and Venezuelans closer together in a moment of great difficulty. After the strong earthquakes that hit Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, app drivers in Manaus started a campaign to collect donations for families affected by the tragedy. The mobilization brings together Brazilian and Venezuelan professionals living in the Amazonian capital who have relatives or friends in the regions affected by the tremors.

The information was released by g1 Amazonas, based on reports from the campaign organizers and information from the authorities. According to the report, the entire initiative was born within the app drivers’ own category, which decided to organize a solidarity network to bring humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquakes in Venezuela.

In addition to strengthening ties between communities, the campaign seeks to meet the most urgent needs of the affected families. Therefore, the organizers structured their own logistics to receive, store, and forward the donations to the neighboring country.

The organizers distributed collection points in different regions of Manaus to facilitate public participation. In this way, anyone can contribute with essential items to assist the victims.

The available locations for donation delivery are:

  • Acts Community Church, on João Câmara Avenue, Novo Aleixo neighborhood;
  • Church located at Professora Léa Alencar Street, nº 95, Street 7, in Alvorada I;
  • Manaus Bus Station.

In addition, the campaign receives various types of donations. Among the main requested items are non-perishable food, water, clothes, diapers, personal hygiene products, mattresses, sheets, and pet food.

According to the app driver Raimundo Vagner, some products became a priority after contacting people in the affected areas.

“We are collecting water, mattresses, sheets, and dog food, which is what they asked for the most. It is being collected here and then we will take it to the Alvorada church.”

Meanwhile, the drivers themselves coordinate the logistics of storage, transport, and dispatch of the collected materials. In addition, family members and volunteers living in Venezuela help distribute the donations to ensure that the donations reach the most needy families.

According to the organizers, all the allocation of materials occurs through a network of contacts formed by volunteers and family members living in Venezuela. In this way, the campaign aims to speed up the arrival of humanitarian aid to the regions affected by the earthquakes.

This joint effort demonstrates how community initiatives can offer quick responses in times of emergency. In addition, it strengthens cooperation between Brazilians and Venezuelans living in Manaus.

Tremors were also felt in Manaus after earthquakes in Venezuela

The effects of the earthquakes crossed Venezuelan borders. According to specialists, the tremors were also felt in Manaus due to the propagation of seismic waves generated by the movement of tectonic plates.

According to the explanation released during the coverage of the case, the earthquakes occurred at depths of 10 kilometers and 15 kilometers.

“According to some seismological services, the earthquakes had depths of 10 kilometers and 15 kilometers. It is possible that we felt it in Manaus because the waves carry energy resulting from the collision between the tectonic plates.”

In addition, the Venezuelan government reported that at least 20 aftershocks were recorded in the hours following the earthquakes. While rescue teams continue to search for people trapped in the rubble in La Guaira, the campaign organized in Manaus seeks to provide support to affected families by collecting essential items.

The mobilization reinforces that, even in the face of great tragedies, solidarity actions can make a difference in the lives of thousands of people. Therefore, the participation of the population is considered essential to expand the reach of the campaign and bring hope to the victims of the earthquakes in Venezuela.
