Inclusive and Accessible Training for All Audiences
The main objective of the course is to enable students to recognize the characteristics associated with the autistic spectrum, as well as to understand the diversity within ASD.
To achieve this, the content is divided into four modules, ranging from the medical view of autism to the political approach to neurodiversity.
The course is classified as basic level, which means that anyone can participate — parents, educators, students, healthcare or social professionals, and even individuals who live with autistic individuals or wish to learn more about the subject.
The instructors responsible for the content are Adriana da Costa Barbosa and Brenda Fernandes Galter, professionals with extensive expertise in education and inclusion.
The course is offered in Portuguese and can be accessed on both mobile and computer, requiring only an internet connection.
Flexible Pedagogical Structure and Autonomy in Study
The adopted methodology promotes total autonomy for the student, who can organize their own schedules and navigate through the content at their desired pace.
The modules are available in various formats, such as videos, texts, and images, offering a multimodal learning experience.
Although there is no individualized tutoring, the platform provides collaborative spaces for students to interact with each other, share experiences, and ask questions, promoting a collective learning environment.
The assessment is formative and occurs throughout the four modules. Each stage has an evaluative activity worth 25 points.
To earn the certification, the student needs to obtain at least 60 points, complete the 30 hours of workload, and take the final evaluation of the course.
Once these requirements are met, the certificate can be generated automatically by the platform.
Syllabus Addresses Science, Politics, and Diversity
The course is divided into four main modules, each with a specific focus:
- Module 1: Understanding Autism from the Medical Perspective
- Module 2: Neurodiversity as a Political Movement
- Module 3: Methods for Identifying Autistic Traits
- Module 4: Diversity in Autism
These contents provide an expanded and updated view of autism, breaking with the stigmas and prejudices still present in society.
In addition, the course aims to foster debate about inclusion and citizenship, fundamental aspects for coexistence in a diverse and democratic society.
