This is a “joint initiative to accelerate the global response to the significant economic and human impacts of COVID-19 and advance concrete solutions for the development emergency.”
The so-called “High-Level Event on Financing for Development in the Era of COVID-19” aims to rethink the recovery of the global economy, based on new pillars and greater focus on issues of social justice and climate.
Last week, President Jair Bolsonaro did not participate in the World Health Assembly, which was attended by Colombia and Paraguay. Brazil also missed out on an international alliance for the development of a vaccine for COVID-19. However, the government is evaluating how to engage in the endeavor.
