To make room in yards, BYD cuts up to R$50 from the prices of its electric cars; promotion runs until the end of May
After anticipating the arrival of thousands of vehicles To circumvent the increase in import tariffs, Chinese automaker BYD has launched a promotional offensive across almost its entire line in Brazil. The discounts, valid until the end of May, reach R$50 and are aimed at replenishing stock for the next batch of imports.
Aggressive strategy to clean up yards and maintain leadership
In order to maintain the fast pace of sales and make room for new batches that are expected to arrive in the coming months, BYD is offering aggressive discounts on several models. The move comes after the arrival of thousands of units brought by the ship Explorer No. 1, in a maneuver to escape the new federal tax on electrified cars, in effect since April.
According to automotive industry analysts, the automaker's strategy aims to consolidate its presence in the Brazilian market before the new rules permanently increase the prices of imported models. "It's a masterstroke. Instead of passing on the costs to the consumer, BYD is putting pressure on the competition with volume and price," said an industry expert in an interview with AutoSport.

The compact Dolphin Mini, the best-selling electric car this year, now costs R$117,8 thousand, with a R$5 thousand discount. The Dolphin GS was also included in the campaign, with a cut of R$20 thousand (from R$159,8 thousand to R$139,8 thousand).

Impact among consumers on networks
On social media and automotive forums such as Clube do Carro Elétrico, many consumers celebrated the brand's initiative. "Now it's possible to buy an electric car without selling a kidney!" commented one user on Instagram. Other internet users questioned the durability of the batteries and the devaluation of the models with such aggressive discounts.
Experts warn that although prices are attractive, it is important to evaluate the charging infrastructure available in your city and the maintenance costs. Still, for those looking for an electrified car with good value for money, this may be the ideal time to make the switch.
Limited opportunity until the end of May
BYD discounts are valid until May 31, 2025 and may be discontinued at any time if stock runs out before then. For more information about each model and to schedule a test drive, consumers can visit the official BYD Brazil website.
