BYD Song Pro 2026 Advances in Range and Electric Efficiency
The main highlight of the BYD Song Pro 2026 is the increased battery capacity in specific versions.
The model now features larger lithium iron phosphate batteries, increasing from 18.3 kWh to 26.6 kWh, which allows it to achieve a 220 km range in fully electric mode.
This advancement places the plug-in hybrid SUV in a new tier within the segment, comfortably surpassing the 133 km electric range of the versions with smaller batteries.
Thus, the Song Pro enhances its appeal for those looking to reduce fuel consumption in urban use.
DM-i Powertrain Remains, but with Strategic Adjustments
In China, the BYD Song Pro 2026 is still equipped with the DM-i plug-in hybrid system.
The system combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 101 hp with an electric motor of 163 hp, prioritizing energy efficiency and smooth driving.
Although the manufacturer has not announced changes in performance, the increased battery allows for greater use of electric mode.
This, therefore, reinforces the proposal for sustainable mobility, especially in large urban centers.
Flex Hybrid in Brazil Will Be a Competitive Differentiator
In the Brazilian market, BYD’s strategy will be different.
The BYD Song Pro 2026 will arrive with the same plug-in hybrid system but adapted to run on gasoline and ethanol, becoming the brand’s first model with a flex hybrid option in Brazil.
According to Autoesporte’s investigations, using ethanol could yield an estimated gain of around 5 hp, due to differences in the engine’s timing curve.
This adaptation reinforces the importance of renewable fuel in the country and meets a long-standing demand from Brazilian consumers.
Dimensions and Design Remain Unchanged
Despite the technical improvements, the BYD Song Pro 2026 maintains the same proportions.
The SUV measures 4.74 meters in length, 1.86 m in width, 1.69 m in height, and has a 2.71 m wheelbase.
Visually, the model adopts the Dragon Face identity, featuring sharp headlights connected by a chrome strip.
Additionally, the front bumper has been revamped, the air intakes have been redesigned, and the front grille is smaller, with a new visual pattern.
At the rear, the changes are subtle, while the front wheels have received a new design.
Refined Interior with Focus on Comfort
In the Chinese market, the BYD Song Pro 2026 offers a cabin with two-tone finishes and soft-touch materials. The dashboard features glossy black accents, enhancing the perception of sophistication.
The versions equipped with the 26 kWh battery also include ventilation and heating for the front seats, as well as a compartment with cooling and heating functions, commonly referred to as a “mini fridge.”
The SUV also retains the “God’s Eye C” driving assistance package.
Prices in China and Expectations for Brazil
In China, the BYD Song Pro 2026 starts at 99,800 yuan, an amount equivalent to about R$ 76,9 thousand in direct conversion.
Meanwhile, the long-range versions cost between 119,800 and 127,800 yuan, reaching approximately R$ 98,6 thousand.
Regarding the possibility of bringing to Brazil the versions with greater 220 km range, BYD stated in a note:
“It continues to conduct studies on market demands from Brazilian consumers and is also still testing and considering new models for the market. For now, there are no defined plans for the arrival of the model.”
