Feed Your Home With The Chevrolet Silverado Electric! GM Bidirectional Charger – General Motors Energy Innovates With Reliable And Sustainable Energy Solution
GM Energy has launched an innovative solution that allows General Motors electric vehicle owners to use their cars as a power source for their homes.
This innovation arises as a response to increasing power outages in the United States, offering a reliable and sustainable alternative to keep your home running.
GM Energy Presents Bidirectional EV Chargers That Allow Your Home To Be Powered By A Vehicle
The new Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) chargers from GM Energy allow the transfer of energy from a compatible GM electric vehicle directly to a residence. This system is not only pioneering in its ability to exchange energy, but also eliminates the need to install additional battery storage systems at home, an option that is often costly and complex.Energy

Although the price of US$7,299 may seem high, it is competitive compared to other battery storage systems, such as Tesla’s Powerwall, which costs US$11,500 with a solar installation.Energy

Future Plans and Competition of GM – General Motors Energy
By 2026, GM plans to extend the bidirectional V2H charging technology to other vehicles based on its Ultium platform, including the 2024 Sierra EV Denali, the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the Chevrolet Equinox EV, and the Cadillac LYRIQ, all 2024 models.Energy
Additionally, some eligible 2024 GM – General Motors vehicles will require a dealer update or software to enable bidirectional charging. GM – General Motors Energy also plans to launch stationary battery storage solutions and solar integration by the end of this year, in an effort to compete with companies like Tesla and its Powerwalls.
