Chevrolet takes a bold step in the Brazilian market with the introduction of the new Monza, the substitute for the Cruze which has already said goodbye to the dealerships.
With its eyes wide open to the Corolla, the sales leader in the category, the new Monza promises to make noise by offering more for less.
Designed in China and named Monza there, the Cavalier is already running in neighboring countries like Mexico. Dimensions, Style, and Specifications of the New Chevrolet Sedan
With a length of 4.64 meters and a wheelbase of 2.64 meters, the Cavalier is identical in size to the Cruze it replaces. The design is a show on its own: full LED headlights, 16-inch wheels, and a Black Piano finish that adds flair to the look.
The Cavalier comes with two engine options. The base version features a 1.2 turbo with indirect injection and 133 horsepower. The higher versions boast a 1.3 turbo, delivering 163 horsepower and 23.5 kgfm of torque. Both promise friendly fuel consumption, doing more with less.
Inside, the model offers the best in terms of connectivity and comfort. With digital climate control, a Bose sound system, and a 10-inch multimedia screen, it can be said that the Cavalier does not fall short.
It also comes from the factory with a complete safety package, including disc brakes with ABS, six airbags, and even adaptive cruise control in the higher trims.
The Battle with the Corolla
The Cavalier arrives ready to take on the Corolla. The Chevrolet sedan has an estimated price between R$ 130,000 and R$ 150,000, a bargain compared to the Japanese model, which starts at R$ 149,000 in its most basic version.
With the Cruze out of the picture, Chevrolet is betting big on the Cavalier, the new Monza, to maintain its ground in the mid-size sedan. With a competitive price and an enviable list of features, the model has everything to win over the Brazilian consumer and heat up the competition.
Only time will tell if it will indeed take down the Corolla and become the new king of the category. But one thing is certain: the game is just beginning.
