Chevrolet model wants to shake up the market and presents itself as a cheaper alternative to the sales leader

A Chevrolet takes a bold step in Brazilian market with the introduction of new Monza, the substitute for Cruze who has already said goodbye to the stores.

With eyes wide open to the Corolla, sales leader in the category, the new Monza promises to make noise by offering more for less.

Designed in China and named after Monza there, the Cavalier already operates in neighboring countries such as Mexico. Made on the same platform as the Tracker, the car offers a package full of safety, modern design and attractive price, features that could make it the darling of the Brazilian market.

At 4,64 meters long and with a wheelbase of 2,64 meters, the Cavalier is exactly the same in size as the Cruze it replaces. The design is a show in itself: full LED headlights, 16-inch wheels and a Piano Black finish that adds a pop to the look.

The Cavalier arrives with two engine options. A entry-level version features a 1.2 turbo with indirect injection and 133 horsepower. The top versions have a 1.3 turbo, which delivers 163 horsepower and 23,5 kgfm of torque. Both promise friendly consumption, doing more with less.

Inside, the model offers the best in terms of connectivity and comfort. With digital climate control, a Bose sound system and a 10-inch multimedia screen, you can say that the Cavalier did not leave anything to be desired.

It also leaves the factory with a complete safety package, including disc brakes with ABS, six airbags and even adaptive cruise control in the more expensive versions.

The fight with the Corolla

The Cavalier arrives with the knife in his teeth to face the Corolla. O Chevrolet sedan has an estimated price of between R$130.000 and R$150.000, a bargain compared to japanese model, which starts at R$149.000 in its most basic version.

With Cruze out of play, the Chevrolet bets big on the Cavalier, new Monza, so as not to lose ground in the medium sedans. With a competitive price and a list of envy-inducing equipment, the model has everything to win over the Brazilian consumer and give heat to the competition.

Only time will tell if he really will unseat the Corolla and become the new king of the category. But one thing is certain: the game is just beginning.
