The Chevrolet Onix, one of the most popular cars in Brazil, is set to receive its first major visual update since the launch of the current generation. The 2026 model will arrive with significant design changes, a much more technological interior featuring a brand-new dashboard and new safety equipment, promising to redefine expectations in the compact hatch segment.
A More Modern Appearance
The main change in the new Chevrolet Onix is in the front end. The design was inspired by more recent models from the brand, such as the Monza Sold in China. The headlights will become sharper and will feature LED daytime running lights (DRL), giving it a more aggressive and modern look. The front grille has also been redesigned, as well as the bumper, to align the car with Chevrolet’s new visual identity.

Responding to demands, Chevrolet will enhance the safety package of the Onix. It is expected to include important technologies, such as collision alert with automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. These features will add to equipment already present in top versions, such as blind spot alert, making the Chevrolet Onix one of the most complete in its category.

Under the hood, the well-known 1.0 Turbo Flex Engine will be maintained, but it will undergo updates to meet new emission standards. Power may see a slight increase, reaching 121 horsepower. A crucial piece of information for consumers is that the controversial oil-bathed timing belt will be retained in the design. The car will continue to offer options for either a manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
