Chevrolet, One of Brazil’s Most Traditional Automakers, Prepares for a Total Renewal in the Country.
One of the most traditional automakers operating in Brazil, Chevrolet is preparing a complete renewal in the country, as stated by a report from the “CNN Brazil” channel.
According to the broadcaster, after years following a linear path, automakers operating in Brazil are preparing to modify the scenario due to new electrification technologies and the strong arrival of Chinese brands.
Recently, for example, Ford announced the closure of its factories in Brazil, becoming solely an importer. Meanwhile, Stellantis announced a renewal plan with flex electric systems, and General Motors revealed that it also intends to renew.

Indications of Chevrolet’s Renewal
According to “CNN Brazil,” the official milestone of the impending renewal of Chevrolet took place in January, when the company announced it would invest R$ 7 billion in the country by 2028.
Today, the company has not announced what the automaker’s path will be in the country. However, the broadcaster reports that executives clearly indicate that the focus will be on the production of flex hybrid engines.
When announcing the billion-dollar investment, the company reported that the amount will cover the complete renewal of the vehicle portfolio, the development of innovative and customized technologies for the local market, as well as the creation of new businesses.
“The factories will also receive upgrades that will make them even more modern, agile, and sustainable,” the company said in the statement.
Electric Cars: The Best Option
According to “CNN Brazil,” executives managed to convince the American headquarters that the production of hybrid cars is the best alternative for the Brazilian market. Previously, global management was betting on a direct transition from combustion to electric vehicles.
New Models in Brazil
The expectation is that a renewal of cars currently sold in Brazil will be announced, as well as the announcement of new generations and other imported models.
In this regard, according to the channel, a general renewal is expected for models such as Onix, Onix Plus, and Tracker in Brazil.
Besides these, the Chevrolet S10 and Trailblazer are also expected to present news. Some of these have already been leaked and show that the pickup will undergo a major redesign, making its look similar to the American Colorado.
Imported Electric Vehicles
Another trend with the announced investments is the arrival of imported models. The highlight is the LT Trailboss version of the Chevrolet Silverado. This is a model considered “more affordable.”
The vehicle, which features a sporty design from the large luxury pickup, is expected to arrive in Brazil this year at a price below R$ 500 thousand.
In addition to this model, Chevrolet is also expected to bring the new model of the Equinox EV, which is 100% electric. This medium SUV was developed on GM’s Ultium platform, designed for electric cars. Finally, another 100% electric model expected to arrive in Brazil soon is the Blazer EV, a luxury SUV.
