Now, an investigation led by the security company CrowdStrike indicates that the leader behind this group is a Brazilian named Luan B.G., 33 years old, residing in Minas Gerais.
The report obtained exclusively by TecMundo revealed impressive details about Luan, including his history of criminal activities and connections with other hackers. All information collected by CrowdStrike has been forwarded to the competent authorities, which are now seeking to arrest the cybercriminal.
The Profile Of The Brazilian Hacker
Luan B.G., the alleged leader of USDoD, is not a newcomer in the world of cybercrime. According to CrowdStrike’s investigation, he has a long history of involvement with hacktivism and other online activities, starting in 2017. During this period, Luan used the same email address to create accounts on various hacker forums, edit GitHub pages with attack tools, and register domains to promote cybersecurity projects.

The path to identifying Luan was facilitated by his own “vanity” in the digital world. He left traces that connected his email to social media profiles and forums, as well as using the same nicknames on different platforms. The investigation also found financial records linking his activities to Brazil, with transactions made in July 2024 using a credit card from a Brazilian financial institution.
