Innovative Agreement for Improving Operational Efficiency
Constellation, together with HMH, announced on Thursday, January 11, the celebration of a pioneering contract in Brazil for integrated maintenance support of Blowout Preventers (BOPs) on its semisubmersible drilling platforms, including Alpha Star, Gold Star, and Lone Star. This agreement, with an initial duration of five years and the possibility of extension, introduces a performance-based remuneration model and risk-sharing, an innovative strategy in the Brazilian market.
Transformation in Critical Equipment Maintenance
Rodrigo Ribeiro, CEO of Constellation, emphasizes that the contract with HMH will bring greater reliability to the critical equipment of the rigs, as well as increase the safety of well control processes and operational efficiency. This agreement allows Constellation to focus on drilling operations, while HMH takes responsibility for maintaining the BOPs of the three platforms. The agreement includes the delivery of parts, predictive and preventive maintenance, and optimization of maintenance time through data analysis, ensuring the continuous readiness of the equipment.
Advanced Maintenance and Support Strategy
Chuck Chauviere, president of HMH’s Pressure Control Systems division, highlights the implementation of a condition-based maintenance program, optimizing maintenance intervals and enhancing operational performance. This integrated approach ensures that BOPs are always in optimal condition for operation. The contract represents a significant advancement in equipment maintenance and asset management, with expectations to increase uptime and availability of drilling units for clients, marking a new paradigm in the industry.
