The Market Has Advanced in Age Diversity in Companies in the First Half of 2021.

According to data collected by Gupy, a recruitment company, the market has advanced in age diversity in companies in the first half of 2021.

In this time frame, 10% of job openings posted by Gupy were filled by professionals aged 40 to 50 – even though it may seem a small percentage – this number represents a 217% increase in hires of professionals aged 40 and older.

The arrival of 40 is still considered by many as a barrier in the job market. Due to age or even gender bias, re-entering the workforce at this age is more challenging.

According to Tailon Ribeiro, CEO of Lions Seminovos, this exclusion is off-key; after all, there are many reasons to hire someone in this age group: “There are very positive points: The experience and culture of older people bring with them greater knowledge, greater responsibility, market experience, they seek job stability and this helps since they want to stay in the job for a long time and not venture out.”
