IFSertãoPE has opened registrations for online and free courses. There are conversation classes in English, Spanish, and French. The initiative comes from the Petrolina Zona Rural campus. Registrations are only open until May 8. The Polyglot Club project aims to improve communication in these languages. Hurry to register!
Registrations for the free conversation courses are already open. They must be made exclusively online. Attention: the deadline is short and ends next Thursday, May 8. Don’t waste time to secure your chance to participate.
Who Can Participate? Requirements and Available Spots
To participate, interested individuals must meet some simple requirements. It is necessary to be at least 15 years old. It is also required to be enrolled in or have already completed high school. Finally, it is essential to have basic knowledge of the desired language (English, Spanish, or French).

A total of 30 spots for each language is being offered: 30 for English, 30 for Spanish, and 30 for French. Half of the spots (50%) are reserved for the internal public of the Petrolina Zona Rural campus (students and staff). The other half is open to the external public in general.
How Does the Selection Work? Video Submission is Required
The selection process has an important step. The first 40 applicants registered for each course must submit a video. The video should be short, with up to one minute in duration.
In this recording, the candidate needs to introduce themselves. They should provide their name, place of origin or current residence. Additionally, they should talk about their experience with the chosen language. Finally, they must explain why they wish to participate in the Polyglot Club. The final classification and selection of students will be based on the evaluation of these videos.
Course Details: Workload, Platform, and Schedules
Each conversation course will have a total workload of 30 hours. The meetings will take place remotely (online). The platform used will be Google Meet.
Classes start at the end of May. Check the days and times for each language:
- English: Tuesdays, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM (Start on May 27).
- Spanish: Tuesdays, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM (Start on May 27).
- French: Thursdays, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM (Start on May 29).
