Number of Scholarships and Focus Areas
Annually, the Estudar Foundation offers between 30 and 50 scholarships, depending on the budget and the quality of candidates.
In the last cycle, approximately 45 scholarships were awarded to students from various fields.
For 2025, the Foundation expanded the scope of the program, including new selection verticals in strategic areas such as technology (STEM), agriculture, health, and finance.
The Tech Fellow program, focused on technology, will be integrated into the Estudar Leaders Scholarship Program, ensuring the inclusion of diverse profiles.
News in Selection
In addition to the new focus areas, the Foundation is also attentive to the geographical coverage of the program, prioritizing candidates from the rural areas of Brazil, especially from the Midwest, South, and Northeast. Mendes states, “That’s why agriculture is a strategic sector, and we want to support future leaders in this area.”
Scholarship Coverage and Selection Process
The scholarships can cover up to 90% of the costs of the course, depending on the financial need of the candidate.
The support may also include assistance for participation in academic events, book purchases, and living expenses.
The selection process is rigorous and resembles the application model for universities in the United States, including self-assessment tests, individual interviews, and group dynamics. Lucas Mendes emphasizes that the selection seeks to identify the potential impact of the candidate: “More than high grades, we want people engaged in transforming reality in Brazil.”
Lifetime Support Network
The beneficiaries of the program not only receive financial support; they become part of a lifetime network of leaders.
This network offers mentorship, networking opportunities, and continuous development. “It’s a scholarship for life,” Mendes states, highlighting the importance of collaboration among scholars.
Who Can Participate?
The program is aimed at Brazilians up to 34 years old who have been approved or are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, master’s, or doctoral studies.
The scholarships are available for students both in Brazil and those who wish to study abroad.
Enrollment and Deadlines
Applications are open until April 6 and can be made through the Estudar Foundation website.
Mendes recommends that interested individuals start the process as soon as possible, as it requires time and dedication. “Several scholars were approved only on their second or third attempts. It’s worth insisting,” he encourages.
