The first class of “Without Fear of Driving” took place in August and had 800 spots, which were filled in less than 12 hours.
According to the general director of Detran, Givaldo Vieira, the result demonstrates the positive impact of the initiative:
“Overcoming the fear of driving grants independence and facilitates mobility. This reflects in greater safety, with conscious and responsible drivers.”
According to the Public School of Transit, there was a significant improvement in participants’ confidence.
The main fears reported were related to practical situations, such as facing heavy traffic, parking, starting on slopes, and driving on fast roads.
