EPE’s Director of Oil and Gas Heloisa Borges Participated in an Interview with Colombia Oil & Gas and Highlighted the Main Measures Adopted for the Maintenance and Resumption of Investments in Brazil
Heloísa Borges Esteves, who led the Bidding Promotion Superintendence of the National Oil Agency (ANP), is the new Director of Studies on Oil, Gas, and Biofuels at the Energy Research Company (EPE). Heloísa holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has a Master’s in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is also a graduate in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and graduated in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Heloisa Commented on the Maintenance Process and Resumption of Investments in the Brazilian Industry
“Brazil and Colombia are very similar in the sense that we know opportunities, but also many underexplored opportunities. Most of the challenges we face regarding investments in Brazil are similar to those occurring in other Latin American countries. Oil companies are prepared to face them and have done so in the past.
Some, however, need responses from the government. Undeniably, the challenge is to provide concrete measures to ensure investments in the current scenario. In our experience, these measures are more effective when they come from a collective effort. Open conversations among companies, government, and society are essential to build consensus on the path to be followed.
