After BYD confirmed the acquisition of the Camaçari factory, Ford finalized the sale of the facility to the government of Bahia. Now, the automaker known for its electric vehicles will face negotiations to acquire the factory from the state government, according to the website Olhar Digital.
According to the statement released to the press, the agreement aims to simplify and expedite the property transition process of the factory, bringing value both to the state and the population of Bahia.
BYD and the Acquisition of the Camaçari Factory
In March, BYD announced its intention to acquire Ford’s last factory in Brazil, the Camaçari Automotive Complex, located in Bahia. The purchase of this automotive hub marks a significant step for BYD, involving the construction of three units within the newly acquired complex. The total investment estimated for this expansion is approximately R$3 billion from BYD.
