BMS Promotes The Participation Of Six Companies In The Event; Brazilian Companies Accumulate US$2.2 Million In Business Deals, Contributing To The Expansion Of Their Businesses And More Jobs.
Last week, the city of Frankfurt, Germany, hosted IFFA 2022, the world’s leading trade fair in the meat sector. Among the exhibitors, six companies stood out, participating in the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) sector export project, a result of the partnership between ApexBrasil and ABIMAQ, which together project US$2.2 million in international business and new jobs resulting from the event. During the fair, the companies showcased machinery and equipment aimed at the packaging, goods packaging, and processing and preparation of animal protein sectors.
Brazilian Exports
Brazilian exports of machinery and equipment for packaging goods amounted to US$35.7 million in 2021, a 6.1% increase compared to the previous year. The country that imports these equipment the most is Argentina, accounting for a total market share of 13.1%, generating US$4.68 million. The United States totaled US$4 million, a growth of 14.9% compared to 2020.
Colombia imported a total of US$2.25 million last year. Regarding machinery and equipment for meat preparation, the largest importer from Brazil is Paraguay, with a share of 17.8%. The country imported US$2.12 million last year, an increase of 106% compared to 2020.

Brazilian Companies At IFFA 2022
During the fair, the national companies invited by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) program presented their launches at a collective stand to strengthen Brazil’s image as a manufacturer of mechanical capital goods with technology and competitiveness. The companies selected for IFFA 2022 were Equimatec, Farenzena, Hightech, Plasmetal, Torfresma, and Varpe Brasil.
Throughout the event, they generated US$2.22 million in revenue. Based on their participation in the fair, companies estimate business transactions of US$26.25 million for the next 12 months and the generation of over 2,000 jobs.
Equimatec achieved US$1.2 million in revenue, projecting US$6 million for the next year. Hightech totaled US$500,000 in business during the fair. Torfresma estimates US$18 million in business initiated during the event for the next 12 months.
International Business
The main importers of Brazilian machinery and equipment for meat preparation and packaging are Argentina, the United States, and Paraguay. Argentina imports 11.8% of Brazilian machinery, totaling US$5.6 million in 2021.
The United States increased its imports by 20% between 2020 and 2021, reaching US$5.45 million. In the Paraguayan market, the increase was 53%, totaling US$3.97 million in 2021.
Two other South American countries stand out in machinery movements: Colombia, with US$2.8 million, and Chile, totaling US$2.45 million. In 2021, Brazil exported a total of US$47.6 million in this sector.
