Voltalia Starts Construction Of The Wind Power Plant In Bahia That May Generate 1,500 Jobs
Voltalia Energia do Brasil has started construction of a wind power plant in the municipality of Canudos in Bahia, and it is expected that up to 50 direct jobs will be generated during operation and 1,500 indirect jobs during the construction of the wind power plant, which will have an installed capacity of 99 Megawatts (MW) with great potential for expansion.
The new plant in Bahia shows Voltalia’s ability to replicate a successful business model that made the 2.4 gigawatt Serra Branca cluster the largest wind and solar cluster in the world. This strategy consists of developing a large and competitive set of projects in the same location, aiming to retain some projects and sell others, all benefiting from economies of scale. The total estimated potential for Canudos is 1 gigawatt.
