Exploratory Campaign in the Amazon Basin Continues to Bring Good Results, and the Company Discovers Natural Gas in a New Well in the Region
Established as one of the largest companies in the energy and oil and gas sector in Brazil, Eneva continues to seek to expand its exploration in the national territory and is advancing in its exploratory campaign looking for new reserves in the Amazon Basin, located in the Northern region of the country. This week, the company announced that it made a new discovery in its area of operation and found signs of natural gas in well 3-ENV-35D-AM.
Located in the exploratory block AM-T-84, this well is one of the company’s most recent and brought about the significant discovery of natural gas in yet another region of the Amazon Basin. This is the third discovery of signs of fuels in this area made by Eneva in less than a year.

The first significant indication was recorded during November 2021, when the company notified the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP) about the existence of signs of oil and gas during the drilling of the block’s pioneering well.
Moving to May 2022, the company made a new notification to the ANP regarding signs of natural gas and oil after the drilling of the second well in the area, named 3-ENV-33D-AM, during its exploratory campaign in the Amazon Basin.
Moreover, during April of this year, in a neighboring exploratory block, titled AM-T-85, Eneva also announced that it found signs of oil and gas in well 1-ENV-31D-AM, further reinforcing the potential for oil and natural gas exploration in the Northern region of the country.
Eneva Continues to Expand Its Exploratory Campaign in the Amazon Basin and Grows in the Brazilian Natural Gas Market with New Discoveries
Eneva’s exploratory campaign in the Amazon Basin has been strongly contributing to the expansion of the company in the national fuels market, especially concerning natural gas production. According to the company’s own data, the company’s natural gas reserves have more than doubled since the end of 2021 — from 7.109 billion m³ (Bm³) to 14.8 Bm³ in four months, a significant and important leap during an exploratory campaign like the current one.
The report with the data on the expansion of Eneva’s natural gas reserves was produced by the consulting firm Cline & Associates (GCA) and refers to the Azulão gas and condensate field, currently in production. Additionally, the exploratory blocks AM-T-84 and AM-T-85, which are also part of the Anebá Discovery Assessment Plan (PAD), were included in the data collected during this year.
