Petrobras Wants to Merge 13 Thermoelectric Plants and Raise Up to 30 Billion Dollars

Petrobras plans to unify 13 plants running on natural gas, to be sold after the power supply auction scheduled for April 30

The goal of the merger is to enhance the value of the companies’ assets with these sales. Petrobras aims to raise around 30 billion dollars over a period of 15 years. These figures are expected to come from the capital markets.

The government’s objective with the April auction is to replace one group of oil-fired thermoelectric plants with gas and coal plants. Petrobras has not commented on the intention to merge the auctioned companies into a single entity.
