Azimut Yachts Obtains License to Expand Operations in Santa Catarina, Strengthening the Brazilian Nautical Sector

The renowned Italian luxury yacht manufacturer, Azimut Yachts, has received authorization from the Santa Catarina Environmental Institute (IMA-SC) to expand its shipyard in Itajaí.

The installation environmental license (LAI) was granted on June 2, 2025. With this, the company will be able to expand its structure by about 4,000 square meters.

The expansion includes a new testing area, a dock with an extension of 80 meters, a pier, ramp, and equipment for moving boats.

Additionally, a new administrative area to support the shipyard’s operations will be built. The company, which is already operating at high demand, intends to optimize its capacity with these improvements.

Strategic Expansion Reinforces Azimut’s Presence in the Brazilian Market

The shipyard’s expansion represents a strategic move for Azimut Yachts. The company seeks to consolidate its leadership in the luxury vessel sector in the country.

With the new infrastructure, the brand will be able to increase its production. This will allow for a quicker response to the growing demand from the national and international markets.

The new testing area and expanded dock ensure greater logistical efficiency. Thus, manufacturing, handling, and delivery processes will be carried out in a more dynamic and secure manner.

These advancements undoubtedly place Brazil in a prominent position in the high-end nautical industry.

Environmental License Highlights Commitment to Sustainability

The acquisition of the environmental license reinforces the company’s alignment with sustainable practices. The entire process followed the environmental requirements set forth by Brazilian legislation.

The Santa Catarina Environmental Institute carefully evaluated the project. The agency ensured that it would carry out the expansion with minimal impact on the local environment.

Azimut has prioritized environmental responsibility.

The company continually invests in technologies and practices that respect the region’s natural resources.

This balance between growth and sustainability positions the brand as a global reference in conscious nautical construction.

Positive Impact on the Local Economy and the Nautical Sector

The expansion of the shipyard will have significant repercussions on the economy of Itajaí and Santa Catarina. The work is expected to generate new job opportunities in the nautical sector.

With more operational structures, production is expected to intensify. This stimulates suppliers, service providers, and the entire supply chain involved.

Moreover, the city consolidates itself as a nautical hub of Brazil. The investment attracts new partnerships and enhances high-end tourism in the region.

The nautical sector strengthens not only economically but also in terms of innovation and excellence.

Future Perspectives and Continuity of Development

The company has yet to provide specific timelines or investments for the execution of the expansion. Nevertheless, the project already signals a robust bet on the country.

With the environmental license in hand, Azimut reaffirms its confidence in Brazil’s potential. The initiative is part of a continuous growth plan.

Additionally, the modernized shipyard is expected to open new avenues for technological projects and the launch of more advanced models.

This movement, finally, reinforces Brazil’s position as a strategic base for the global luxury vessel industry.
