Equipment Delivery Took Place on Monday (05/27) and Aker Solution Wants 30% of Revenue from the Paraná Unit to Come from Exports
At a ceremony held last Monday (05/27) at the Aker Solution factory in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, the Executive Vice President of Products at Aker Solution, Maria Peralta, stated after the delivery of a Wet Christmas Tree (WCT) to Equinor, that she expects the unit to achieve 30% of its revenue from exports in the next five years.
The contract between Aker and Equinor provides for the delivery of 124 subsea equipment modules for the company’s use in the Norwegian sea, valued at R$ 1.7 billion, with R$ 100 million having been brought by Aker to the Brazilian factory in São José dos Pinhais.
The company’s vice president is optimistic about exports and even with demand increasing here in the domestic market, she wants the factory in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, to maintain a third of its production in revenue.
To achieve this, Aker is already negotiating orders from Africa and others from Norway and always aims to increase local content, given that Equinor’s project included 80% national content in the manufacturing of the control systems (subsea control modules, SCM).

The Paraná Factory
Aker opened the São José dos Pinhais unit in 2016 and is one of the two global technology centers of the company, alongside another plant located in Malaysia.
The wet Christmas trees (WCTs) developed by Aker in Paraná are low-cost and very versatile, being up to 30% more competitive in terms of price.
Aker is developing this project together with Shell and Petrobras, with the expectation that it will be ready in two years and will also be used in the domestic market.
