UFMG launches call for applications for free and fully online course
According to notice No. 2734/2024, published on December 6, 2024, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB), made 5.000 places available for the extension course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
This training program, which will be carried out 100% remotely, promises to transform the teaching approach in regular and Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) classrooms.
The course lasts three months and has a workload of 120 hours, divided into four carefully planned modules.
Classes are scheduled to begin in March 2025.
According to UFMG, priority for registration will be given to teachers and managers of basic education in the public network, but professionals from the private network can also apply.
Who can participate?
Teachers and managers of basic education in the state public network who work in regular classrooms or in Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) spaces can register.
However, according to the notice, the opportunity is also open, exceptionally, to teachers and managers from the private network or basic education professionals who, for whatever reason, are not in the classroom at the moment.
How will the selection be made?
According to the notice, the selection criteria are simple and straightforward: the chronological order of applications. In other words, those who apply early will have a better chance of securing a place.

According to the published schedule, the preliminary result will be published on January 31, 2025. Candidates who do not agree with the result will be able to file appeals until February 7.
The final result will be announced on February 10th, and those approved will receive an email with instructions for starting activities in the CAPES Virtual Learning Environment (AVA).
