Federal Institute opened vacancies for free technical courses in Serrinha, Bahia, with registrations until May 28.
The Federal Institute of Bahia (IF Baiano) has started the selection process to fill 60 vacancies in free technical courses at the Serrinha campus, a municipality located in the interior of Bahia. The opportunities are intended for candidates who have already completed high school and include training in the areas of Agriculture and Musical Instrument. Registrations can be made until May 28, both online and in person at the unit.
The selection will occur in order of registration, without the application of a test. The courses will be offered in different shifts: Agriculture in the morning and Musical Instrument in the evening.
Federal Institute offers free technical courses in two areas
The vacancies were divided between two technical training courses subsequent to high school.

The Agriculture course concentrates most of the opportunities, with 40 vacancies available. Meanwhile, the Musical Instrument training will have 20 vacancies.
According to information released by the institution, each course has specific objectives:
- Agriculture: training focused on sustainable development in rural areas;
- Musical Instrument: training professionals for artistic, educational performance, or academic continuity in the musical area.
While the agricultural course will be held in the morning, music classes will take place in the evening.
How to register for the Federal Institute vacancies?
Interested parties can participate in the selection process in two ways.
The first option is to register online, through the electronic form available on the IF Baiano Prosel page.
There is also in-person service at the Serrinha campus, located on Estrada Vicinal de Aparecida, without a number, in the Aparecida neighborhood.
The in-person service takes place:
- from Monday to Friday;
- from 8 am to 12 pm;
- from 1 pm to 2 pm.
Free technical courses require specific documentation
To complete the enrollment, candidates will need to present a series of documents required by the announcement.
Among the main requested items are:
- updated vaccination card;
- SUS card;
- birth certificate;
- proof of residence;
- completed enrollment form;
- 3×4 photos;
- school transcript or high school completion certificate;
- ID and CPF.
Additionally, depending on the candidate’s situation, supplementary documents may be requested, such as proof of electoral compliance and military service certificate.
Federal Institute operates in a region linked to sisal culture
The Serrinha campus is located in the Sisal Identity Territory, an area known for the strong presence of sisal production in the semi-arid region of Bahia.
The region is approximately 185.4 kilometers from Salvador and is mainly accessed via the BR-324 and BR-116 highways.
The local economy is marked by activities related to:
- family farming;
- extensive livestock;
- sisal cultivation.
According to data mentioned by the institution, Bahia accounts for more than 96% of the national production of sisal fiber. The product is used in various industrial sectors, including the manufacture of ropes, rugs, carpets, and paper.
Technical training aims to strengthen regional activities
IF Baiano reported that the offering of courses is also related to the economic and social needs of the sisal region.
According to the institution, strengthening family farming appears as one of the important demands of the territory. In this scenario, professional qualification is seen as a tool to expand economic possibilities and improve the utilization of local productive activities.
The institute also highlights that modernizing the sisal agro-industrial chain can contribute to expanding markets and generating new opportunities in the semi-arid region of Bahia.
Meanwhile, the Musical Instrument course aims to cater to students interested in artistic and technical training related to the cultural sector.

The deadline for participating in the selection process ends on May 28.
