Free Meeting Series Across Brazil Connects Integrators and Disseminates Information on the Solar Market
Feira de Santana (BA) will be the third Brazilian city to host the FiberX Solar Journey, on May 23, 2024. The event aims to connect integrators from all over Brazil and disseminate important information about the future of the solar market. It has already taken place in Florianópolis (SC) and Porto Alegre (RS), and by the end of the year, it will also occur in Chapecó (SC), Campinas (SP), and São Paulo (SP), among other cities. It will always feature a lecture by Bárbara Rubim, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Absolar – Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association.
The meeting, with a limited number of participants, offers a unique opportunity to better understand the guidelines of the Legal Framework for Distributed Generation (Law 14.300, of 06/01/2022), including the Fio B tariff, and to learn about innovative technologies in the sector. This new Brazilian legislation regulates micro and mini distributed energy generation, allowing consumers to reduce their expenses by producing their own electricity through a credit compensation system with the distribution utility.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.

Africa has about 500,000 cell towers and most still burn diesel to operate, while companies rush to cover antennas with solar energy and avoid signal blackouts.
-
Farmers swapped diesel for solar panels in Pakistan, powered irrigation pumps almost cost-free, expanded rice fields, and now groundwater has become a red alert in the countryside.

Migrant workers left the world’s largest renewable energy park in India after extreme heat, 12-hour shifts, delayed wages, and poor accommodations at a site that still promises to supply 18 million homes.
Clarification of Questions and Networking Opportunities
Law 14.300 is still recent and raises many questions, which will be the topic of the lecture by lawyer and specialist in electricity sector regulation, Bárbara Rubim. In addition to being Vice President of the Board of Directors of Absolar, she is also an advisor to the Latin American and Caribbean Council on Renewable Energy and Energy Transition and Director of Energy at the Infrastructure Department of Fiesp. At the end of her presentation, Bárbara will answer participants’ questions.
“The Legal Framework for Distributed Generation was highly anticipated and, being recent, consumers and the market still have many questions about how the compensation system will work,” highlights Paulo Andrade, VP of FiberX Renewables. “Aiming to promote exchanges of specialized information and showcase the latest technological innovations in the market, we created the FiberX Solar Journey as an important tool for those looking to grow and stand out from the competition. In addition to the exclusive lecture with Bárbara Rubim, we provide valuable networking moments.”
Expansion and Future of Solar Energy in Brazil
The FiberX Solar Journey will expand to other cities, including Chapecó, Campinas, and São Paulo, throughout the year. The initiative aims to educate and connect industry professionals, facilitating growth and innovation in the solar energy market. Each event offers valuable insights into the development of solar energy projects and how current legislation impacts these initiatives.
