What Is the Cultural Production Initiation Program?
The Cultural Production Initiation Program at the Museum of Life Fiocruz aims to empower young people from peripheral communities in Rio de Janeiro within the cultural and artistic realm.
With a focus on cultural production training, students learn about the process of creating and organizing events, the importance of culture in society, and have the opportunity to visit various cultural initiatives in the city.
Additionally, the course offers a grant of R$ 400 per month, allowing young people to fully dedicate themselves to training and learning.
Over the course of eight months, from April to November 2025, students will have access to theoretical and practical classes, with activities ranging from discussions about cultural production to technical visits to museums and cultural centers.
How Does the Course Work?
The course, which will take place from April to November 2025, occurs from Tuesday to Thursday, from 2 PM to 5 PM, and is entirely in-person at the Museum of Life Fiocruz, located at Avenida Brasil, 4,365, in Manguinhos, Rio de Janeiro.
Young people aged between 16 and 21, residents of communities such as Manguinhos, Maré, Alemão, and Jacarezinho, have the chance to apply for this free training.
With limited spots, the selection process requires applicants to submit several documents, such as proof of school enrollment, along with an essay and an interview to assess the candidate’s profile.
Applications are in-person, emphasizing the importance of candidates appearing on-site to secure their spot. Applications will be open on March 10, 11, and 12, 2025, and the selected candidates will be announced on April 2.
Application Requirements
To apply, candidates must be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of high school at public schools in the mentioned communities.
Furthermore, it is essential to have an interest in the areas of culture and artistic production. The selection aims not only to assess the dedication of young people but also to offer a training that is a real opportunity for life change.
The course is entirely free, and in addition to the grant, students will have access to educational materials, transportation for technical visits, and even mentorship support to help them enter the job market in the future.

Applications can be made in-person, from March 10 to 12, at the Museum of Life Fiocruz, in Manguinhos.
To ensure you have all the necessary documents, it is important to bring a copy of the proof of school enrollment, identity document, and an essay that demonstrates the candidate’s interest in the cultural field.
Additionally, there will be an in-person interview with candidates, which will assist in evaluating each individual’s profile.
The final result will be published on the official website of the Museum of Life Fiocruz on April 2, 2025.
