Under the hood, the Ford Ranger Black 2025 is equipped with the 2.0 Panther turbo diesel engine, which delivers 170 horsepower and 41.7 kgfm of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, this setup provides reasonable performance for a pickup of this size.
Compared to its rivals, the Fiat Toro Diesel has the same power but less torque (35.7 kgfm). The Ram Rampage Diesel delivers 200 horsepower and 45.8 kgfm of torque, offering stronger performance but also at a significantly higher price.

In tests, the Ranger Black accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.2 seconds, a time close to the Toro and slightly lower than the Rampage. In terms of fuel consumption, it recorded 8.9 km/l in the city and 13.3 km/l on the highway, numbers acceptable for a diesel pickup.
4×2 Traction: Can This Ford Pickup Handle Off-Road?
One of the main discussion points about the Ford Ranger Black 2025 is the absence of 4×4 traction. For many, this may be a barrier, but it is important to remember that a large part of mid-size pickup buyers use these vehicles on highways and urban areas, where 4×4 is rarely necessary.
With an approach angle of 30º, superior to the 25º of the Toro and Rampage, the Ranger Black can tackle rougher terrain with some ease. Its ATR tire also helps to handle gravel and uneven surfaces. However, if frequent use occurs in mud or heavy trails, the 4×4 will be missed.
Equipment, Comfort And Interior Space
Inside, the Ford Ranger Black 2025 offers an interesting equipment package. The dashboard features a 10-inch multimedia system, compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The finish is of good quality, combining leather with synthetic fabrics.
Interior space is one of the Ranger’s strengths. With a wheelbase of 3.27 meters, it surpasses the Rampage (2.99 m) and the Toro (2.99 m), ensuring more comfort for rear passengers. The cargo compartment is also impressive: it offers 1,250 liters compared to 980 liters of the Rampage and 937 liters of the Toro.
However, to maintain a more competitive price, the Ranger Black lost some items from the higher version, such as push-button start and advanced driving assist features.
