TST Ruling Declares Petrobras Measures Unfounded, Oil Workers Decide to Suspend Strike and Call for New Assembly
According to Click Petroleum and Gas reported yesterday (10/25), FUP had issued a strike notice to Petrobras that would halt all the company’s production starting at 0h on Saturday (10/26) if no new facts emerged, either from the TST or the state-owned company.
Well, by the end of yesterday afternoon, the TST accepted some of the improvements that the oil workers had requested regarding Petrobras’s previous proposal rejected in the assembly on September 19.
According to a video published by FUP, in which the General Coordinator of the entity, José Maria Rangel, explains that the TST deemed the increase in medical assistance for oil workers through VCMH, which limits to 30% of the funding for the working class, unfeasible.

According to the union leader, the TST accepted, in addition to this point, that the 12-hour shift will only be implemented if approved by local unions, the opening of negotiations with the company so that the limit of 2 daily overtime hours, with half going to the hours bank and half being paid, the enforcement of the payment clause for union dues in the collective agreement, contrary to what is established by MP 873, and that the agreement made applies to Petrobras employees, subsidiaries, and Araucária Nitrogenados (ANSA).
Approval of the Collective Agreement
In light of the presentation of these proposals by the TST, the union leader, after evaluation, recommends to all Petrobras workers to sign the collective labor agreement, which has been negotiated since May, and to suspend the strike.
If the company does not comply with the TST’s determinations, a fact that may occur, according to the union leader, the strike movement may be resumed.
