Starting at 0:00 on October 26th, Petrobras employees have halted all areas of the company, according to FUP, the organizer of the strike.
Last Wednesday (October 23rd), Click Oil and Gas reported that FUP notified Petrobras, its subsidiaries, and Araucária Nitrogenados (ANSA) that it will go on strike starting next Saturday.
Approved in an assembly by more than 70% of oil workers, the movement will have the support of the majority of the workers and will affect all areas of Petrobras.
The statement is from the General Coordinator of the Unique Federation of Oil Workers (FUP), José Maria Rangel, who stated that the Petrobras employees’ strike will be quite significant, but the effects will only be felt between 24 and 36 hours after it begins.

Taller than the Statue of Liberty, thousands of wind turbines are being planted in the middle of U.S. fields, creating two-story farms where corn and soybeans grow below while the wind turns into electricity above.
The reasons, according to the union leader, are the fuel stocks that the refineries have. Also, in offshore production, it takes some time before the halt of operations is felt on land.
The union leader also explained that the intention is to halt all areas of the company, meaning that the refining, production, transportation, and thermoelectric areas will feel the effects of the strike.
Lack of Agreement
The FUP filed for mediation at the TST due to the lack of an agreement with Petrobras, which had not happened for years, with the company refusing to even participate in mediation meetings.
The points on which Petrobras and FUP could not reach an agreement were mainly: the validity of the collective agreement, payment of overtime, coverage of the health plan, retention of union dues, and promotion of salary ranges.
FUP requested TST mediation on the above points but did not receive a response from the Court. Only such a response could lead the workers to withdraw and abandon the strike.
If there are no updates in the process, Petrobras will face a halt in its activities starting at 0:00 on the 26th, guaranteed the union leader.
