Geely EX2 Spotted in Brazil and Promises to Heat Up Competition Among Compact Electric Vehicles
The electric hatchback Geely EX2 was spotted undergoing testing in Brazil. The Chinese automaker Geely conducts the advanced stage evaluation, signaling that the national debut is near.
The images, released by the Placa Verde profile on Instagram, show the model camouflaged while undergoing final adjustments before the launch.
The brand’s goal is clear: to compete directly with the BYD Dolphin and other compact electric vehicles, with an estimated price around R$ 150,000.

Thus, the competition among compact electric cars gains new momentum in Brazil, as the EX2 combines good range with state-of-the-art technologies.
Direct Rival of the BYD Dolphin
The arrival of the Geely EX2 comes amid the accelerated growth of electric mobility in Brazil. The hatch will be positioned in the same price range as the BYD Dolphin, which is currently sold starting at R$ 149,990.
According to the Autos Segredos website, Geely follows the same naming strategy already used in the EX5 SUV, reinforcing the line’s identity.
In China, the model is sold as Geome Xingyuan and is part of the Galaxy line. Additionally, it has gained prominence as one of the best-selling electric cars in the country, surpassing even versions of the BYD Dolphin Mini.
Range and Available Versions
The Geely EX2 electric car arrives on the market in two motorization versions. The first offers 79 hp and guarantees a range of up to 310 km. The second delivers 116 hp and promises to reach 410 km in the CLTC cycle.
The batteries use LFP (lithium iron phosphate) technology, provided by CATL, and allow for fast charging: in just 21 minutes, it is possible to go from 30% to 80% charge.
However, it is worth noting that in Brazil, range numbers tend to be lower, as the measurement standard adopted by Inmetro is more stringent.
Modern Design and Interior Space
The Geely EX2 measures 4.13 meters in length, 1.80 m in width, and has a wheelbase of 2.65 m, dimensions that ensure good space for rear passengers. Furthermore, the rounded design combines smooth lines, hatchback-style rear, and semi-recessed door handles, fully in tune with the brand’s visual identity.
Inside, the model already offers a standard 8.8-inch digital dashboard. For those seeking even more technology, Geely provides as an option a 14.6-inch multimedia center equipped with the Flyme Auto OS system.
Technology and Features
The equipment package of the Geely EX2 brings features that position it alongside larger rivals. Among the main items are the wireless charger for smartphones, heated front seats, a 540º view camera, and the audible alert system for pedestrians.
With this, the model reinforces its proposal of being a well-equipped compact electric car. At the same time, it proves to be an attractive choice for those who value innovation without giving up a competitive price.
Outlook for the Brazilian Market
If Geely confirms the launch of the EX2 in Brazil, it could produce the hatch in partnership with Renault. Thus, the brand would reduce costs and make the model even more competitive against the BYD Dolphin and other compacts.
Moreover, the affordable price combined with good range positions the Geely EX2 as a strong contender to stand out among electric cars in the country. Thus, competition in the segment is expected to intensify, and consequently, Brazilian consumers will gain more options.
