Strategic Investment Aims to Meet Growing Demand for Roof Tiles and Thermal Insulation Panels in Southern Brazil
Perfilor, a joint venture formed by ArcelorMittal and Tekno, is about to start the construction of a new factory for roof tiles and thermal insulation panels in Araquari, a municipality located on the North Coast of Santa Catarina. The total investment will be R$ 100 million, with construction expected to begin later this month and operations estimated to start in the 1st quarter of 2025, according to the website Petronotícias.
According to Eduardo Zanotti, Commercial Vice President of ArcelorMittal Flat Steel for Latin America, the decision to expand operations and create a factory in Southern Brazil is strategic and aims to meet the growing demand for thermal insulation covers in industrial and commercial buildings, as well as cold storage facilities and clean rooms for the agribusiness and pharmaceutical industry. The company already has a factory in Lorena, in the interior of São Paulo.
What Are Thermal Insulation Panels?
Solid Growth of Thermal Insulation Panels
The market and investments in roof tiles and thermal insulation panels from ArcelorMittal have shown a solid growth of 5% to 7% per year in recent years, and Perfilor intends to take advantage of this trend. The new factory in Araquari will be supplied with galvanized coils from ArcelorMittal’s Vega unit, located in São Francisco do Sul, SC, and pre-painted by Tekno.
