Mahindra Invests R$ 100 Million in New Factory in RS and Expands Tractor Production to Meet Brazilian Agriculture.

The Mahindra, Indian giant in the agricultural machinery sector, has confirmed the start of construction of a new tractor factory in Dois Irmãos (RS).

The construction begins on November 18 and represents an investment of R$ 100 million, marking a new cycle of growth for the company in the country. The unit will have the capacity to produce 9,000 tractors per year, tripling the current volume.

Expansion of Mahindra in Rio Grande do Sul

Located by the BR-116, the new Mahindra factory in RS will occupy an area of over 89,000 m², with 38,570 m² of built area and a forecast for expansion of an additional 24,000 m² in the coming years.

The modern structure has been designed to elevate productive efficiency and meet the growing demand of the Brazilian agricultural market.

According to the company, the location was strategically chosen for its logistical ease and proximity to suppliers and distributors in the agricultural machinery sector in the South of the country, one of the regions with the highest concentration of rural producers in Brazil.

Production Capacity Will Be Tripled

With the new plant, Mahindra aims to consolidate its presence in the national market. The production capacity will jump from 3,000 to 9,000 tractors per year, significantly expanding the brand’s reach in the field.

The project reinforces the company’s commitment to the development of the Brazilian agricultural industry, as well as contributing to the generation of direct and indirect jobs in the region of Dois Irmãos.

Nine Years of Operation in Brazil

Mahindra is completing nine years of operations in Brazil and celebrating significant results during this period.

Since its arrival, 13,000 tractors have been sold, and more than 90 points of sale and technical assistance have been established across the country.

This consolidated network is one of the main pillars of expansion, ensuring technical support and proximity to farmers.

The company emphasizes that the investment in infrastructure aims not only to increase production but also to strengthen after-sales and the reliability of its products.

Focus on Innovation and Sustainability

The project for the new Mahindra factory in Dois Irmãos follows principles of sustainability and energy efficiency.

The construction will incorporate technologies aimed at conserving natural resources, water reuse, and rational energy use.

These measures reinforce the brand’s long-term vision, which seeks to combine innovation and environmental responsibility in the manufacturing of tractors and agricultural machinery geared towards the future of Brazilian agriculture.

Strategic Investment and Economic Impact

The investment of R$ 100 million positions Mahindra among the leading foreign groups expanding their industrial presence in Brazil in 2025.

The expected impact goes beyond the increase in production: the factory is expected to stimulate the local economy, strengthen the metalworking sector, and boost the regional production chain.

The expectation is that the new manufacturing hub will become a technological reference within the Mahindra group, serving as a base for exports to other countries in South America.
