General Motors (GM) announced last week the purchase of a stake and 25% in the company Pure Watercraft, which is headquartered in Seattle, and specializes in developing solutions for electric boats. The partnership between Pure Watercraft and GM evolves in the vision of promoting sustainability through an expansion of emissions mobility with maritime transport. The collaboration between Pure Watercraft and GM will leverage Pure's innovative electric boat propulsion technology and commercial shipping industry experience with General Motors' engineering, manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.

With the new partnership, the companies must create and sell electric boats that use batteries, with General Motos technologies in several applications, contributing to the sector's acceleration for electric mobility and clean carbon.

General Motors advances with green hydrogen system in airplanes

General Motors is working on several fronts for sustainable mobility. The company is developing, alongside Liebherr-Aerospace, a fuel cell system that could be used in aircraft.

The system is still in the preliminary design stages and will be tested in a Liebherr-Aerospace laboratory, where the company is already working on other alternative propulsion systems for air transport.

According to General Manager of GM Hydrotec, Charlie Freese, the planes are an excellent field of experimentation to evaluate the versatility and performance of Hydrotec cells, which already operate in sea, land and rail transport.
